Court shoes matter as much as your racquet - the wrong shoe risks injuries and poor grip on slick indoor floors. Look for a non-marking outsole, lateral support, cushioning and a fit that holds your foot during sharp cuts. We stock Asics, Salming, Yonex, Adidas and more for squash, badminton and tennis at Mount Waverley.
Tension 24 specialises in squash shoes and has one of the largest ranges in the world….. well maybe in Australia! We just love our squash and always stock a wide range of shoes. Asics, Salming, Unsquashable, Head, and Stellar.
Squash shoes are a very important part of the game. You need shoes that can cope with fast directional changes, give you support and reduce the risk of rolling your ankle. Squash shoes have non-marking gum rubber outsoles – very important on a wooden floor! And never use your shoes outside as the tread will get dirty, hold grit and become less grippy on the wooden floors. Most squash shoes have a durable toe drag for all that sliding, good cushioning and support for all that running, stopping and starting.
Frequently asked questions
Are squash shoes different from tennis shoes?
Both are court shoes, but they differ. Squash shoes need excellent grip for quick multi-directional stops and good side support for cuts; tennis shoes often add durability for hard-court sliding. For squash indoors, a non-marking, low-roll grippy sole is key.
